G9 dies when hot
I hope this may help someone here as it is a problem I have been chasing for some time now.
My G9 had been failing to start when hot for quite a while. I could raise the seat and wiggle almost any wires and it seemed to fix it for a while. (Looking back, I guess it was just cooling it off enough to start again.) I was pretty sure it was losing ignition but all the wiring checked out O.K. The pulser coil and ignition coil checked good when I checked them but firing was still intermittent when hot. I replaced the igniter but no joy, same problem. Rechecked everything and all still checked good. Soon after, cart died. I mean it really died. Wouldn't fire at all. I replaced the ignition coil and that fixed it. I had read where it was not uncommon for igniters to be intermittent when hot, but coils can be too. (Well, I now have a new spare igniter) Riding again, Snuffy |
