G2 Not running right.
A friend of mine has an 89 g2 he has replaced the fuel pump, and carb. It starts good and will run alright if you barely touch the gas, but if you give it more gas, it starts missing very bad. I took a spark plug and checked the fire it looks weak, small spark and yellow. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you Earl |

Re: G2 Not running right.
When you install the new spacer, be sure to just lightly tighten (snug only) the two 10 mm nuts. That spacer is very easily cracked.

Re: G2 Not running right.
Got my parts today put the spacer and gasket on carb. sealed up the air box real good put a bead of silicone in the lid, put new straps on the lid. Same problem. What is proper adjustment on carb? It is new dont know who put it on but they left it that way with spacer cracked. I only see 1 adjustment screw besides the butterfly screw. I messed with it didn't help. I am leaning toward weak coil fire is very yellow. I have a cc the spark on it is blue. Some of you guys with a lot more knowledge than me your help , would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance Earl |

Re: G2 Not running right.
Cmon guys I really need your expertise. How do you check the coil to see if its weak or not. I know you check the resistance not sure of the steps. Don't mean to be a pain just need your help.
Thanks again Earl |
