G16 No Spark when hot

I have a G16 gas. It runs fine most of the time but may be getting worse. When the air temp and engine heat up the cart will stop. I was able to check it when hot and there was one little spark and then nothing. No spark. I verified the pliug and gap. I checked the cap and cut 1/4" off the plug wire. Since the problem is when it's hot I m think something other than the coil. Any ideas?

I would say it is the coil. I have had several that have had the same symptons.

I don't know about a Yamaha. But i have had 2 CC's That the coil would break down when it got hot...By the way.

I agree with TN. I have found that when G16's and up loose spark when hot,, the "TCI Coil" is the problem. In the hundreds/thousands of carts like this out there,,I can only remember 4 or 5, but your diagnosis leads me to beleive.."TCI". later dave

Thanks I'll replace the coil and let you know if it works. Don't hold your breath as it will be 4 or 5 weeks till I get out to it

the scoop on the side of a engine increases it's the motors temp take it off

CDI unit going bad

located behind the flywheel on the passenger side
