Default drive belt adjustment?

Hey all!
Neighbors got a G11a. I put starter/generator brushes in it this AM. I noticed the Drive belt was loose enough to drag a shinny spot on the frame. It was so loose I could easily pinch the top and bottom of the belt together with my thumb and finger. So my question is is there any motor adjustment to take up some slack or do I have to talk him into a new belt too

There is an engine tensionor, but has no effect on the drive belt. My guess would be the secondary clutch input shaft circlip has gone bad and everything has slid up against the tranny case. I guess the "soft" motor mounts could cause a problem also, but I'd look at the secondary. Should be about a "finger tip" of space between the tranny case and the spring seat. I know how you like working on Yami's Later my freind Dave

Thanks for the replies, friends. I will look at the stuff you mentioned Dave. I guess I need to get a new belt .... Long as they don't need body or top work.... used parts are hard to find as hens teeth
