I've only had to use a puller two times and I still had to get a piece of a 2x4, place it between the sheaves and smack it with a rubber mallet several times before it would pop off. Usually soaking the shaft down with WD40 over night and a few light smacks with a rubber mallet and it will pop off. Worst one I had was on an old G2. Had to use an air hammer but I got it off. It wasn't pretty!
