Default Yamaha G9, brand new carb......still sputters.

I have a 1994 Yamaha G9 Golf Cart. Having purchased this golf cart this spring, it was running great until about a month ago. The problem was that I would have to pull the choke out pretty consistently to keep going. Finally, it started dying out on the course for about 5 minutes, then I could get it going to go home.

So far, I have replaced the following:

- Brand New Carburetor
- Took in-tank filter out and put in new in-line filter
- Brand New Plastic Carburetor intake joint
- New Air Filter
- Changed the Oil
- New Spark Plug

The cart runs pretty good now, but going up hill or when I have it going full throttle, it sputters?? Then I have to pull the choke just like I did before doing all this crap! Any suggestions?

If you have to pull the choke it is lean and you are short on fuel check the fuel pump and real fuel pump stickie at the top of the Yamaha gas section, GOOD LUCK.

Welcome to BGW sogolf,
Check your air filter box for air leaks, G2s and 9s are funny about air leaks.
Check the pulse hose between the crankcase and fuel pump for cracks or oil or water blockage.
Try a longer pulse hose (just fuel line) and loop it upwards about 4". This will keep fluid from settling in the bottom of it.
Might need to pull the carb bowl and check float adjustment.
How about the tank vent?
