Default getting my g16 to idle

what all do i have to do to get it to idle. i have a comet 94c clutch so thats not an issue. i know you can switch the thing behind the behind the pedal upside down and it makes the starter idle, but i want the engine to idle. can i just tighten the throttle cables alittle so its giving it alittle gas, or will that mess the cables up.

thanks in advance

do you want it to start and idle when you turn the key on? if so just put the 2 wires together were the peddle is and it will start when you turn on the key and idle im not sure this is what you wanted to do but thats how you do it to make it a key start .

also not trying to hijack my own thread (if thats possible) i just got a windshield in 2day for my g16 and tried to install it and it keeps hopping out of the plastic mounts. i got it from bu (as a gift) and as ussual, no instructions. could someone please post a pic of how the mounts on it should look. oh by the way its a fold down one w/o the side shields on it...

thanks

it will work the same way as when you push the peddle. the starter still turn with the peddle start. the only thing with this is they dont really charge very well at idle low rpm. it will be fine if you stoped to talk to some one or let it warm up for a minite or two but i wouldnt let idle like an hours at a time

i think you will also have to adjust the carb so the engine will run. Or else it will just be the starter.
