Fuse ?

Anyone tell me what max size fuse to use on 2000 g-16.Since getting cart we,ve added headlamps,tail lights turn signals,radio couple other things,most have own fuses but every once in awhile main one behiend seat blows15 amp,ive been told to increase size of fuse to 25,does this sound right to yall experts?Thanks in advance

I would use 30A but it depends on the overall amperage draw you're using. Solely the stereo could draw up to 10A.
You can calculate your amp draw very easy this by using equation Amps = Watts/Volts.
Just count how much wattage you have with everything operational (front, tails, brakes/turn sig., stereo) then you can calculate the fuse, use some 5A more than what you need.
I think that with 25A you could be a little too close to your needs.

The fuse it came with is a 10A fuse from the battery negative terminal to the frame. It is best to leave that alone and do not connect to the frame to get your ground. Run a separate wire to the Neg of the battery and fuse the 12 volts.

Bad idea hooking all of those up going to one main small fuse. Really bad if you have small wiring!!!!!!!!! Just because you up the amps on a fuse does not mean it fixes it. Just make it easier for the wire to catch on fire if its not the proper size.

I would highly suggest you put some type of fuse block coming off the battery with a large gause wire (say 8g) going to the fuse block, then hook up all you acc. to it. Or just run all your acc. straight to the battery terminal with a fuse on each acc. Max you should need on most acc. is 10 amps, unless you are running stuff with a high amp draw, like audio amps, spot lights, ect.....

Would be a good idea to run a ground block off your ground to the battery also hooked up about the same way as a fuse block, but without the fuses. Gives you easier access to good grounds. Rather than trying to bunch them all up on your terminal.

As stated in orginal post i do have fuse block and most lights ,radio,fan,whatever are on fuse block,which is grounded back to battery.Fuse blows[ i believe it to be 10 or 15 amp] behiend seat once in a blue moon,seems like when starting if im hearing wife right.not every time think i put 3 in it since i bought cart 2 years ago.I was just wondering if i should increase amps up 5 or so?Thanks!

If the ground goes back to the battery for all items. Then they are not responsible for your fuse blowing. A lot of items have the ground connected to the mounting point. Make sure all you items do not do that.

You never said you had a fuse block. A single 15 amp fuse is not a fuse block.

Each thing you run off the battery should have it's own 10amp fuse approximatly.

Running multiple acc. into a single 15 amp fuse is not good. It will blow the fuse because you are drawing to much through it. But the fix is not putting a bigger fuse in unless you have proper size wiring. If the wiring is to small you risk catching your cart on fire.

If you have a 10 amp fuse on your radio, you should have it ran to a power source with a 10 amp fuse at the power source. Same with each component.

If the wiring is big enough at you main fuse then yes go ahead and bump it up a little. Other wise hook everything up to the battery with there own fuse.

But you can't have 5 thing that need a 10 amp fuse run through a main 15 amp fuse. Then you would need a 50-60amp main fuse with thick enough wire to handle it.

Sorry trying to simplify this as much as possible.

I guess i didnt state the words fuse block in 1st post but did say each item has it,s own fuse.Neglected to say ea iten runs to fuse block behiend dash and block has a ground bar that goes to neg.side of battery.My bad,Ihave no problem with any of my items blowing fuses ,just 15 amp [i guess its what ya,ll call main fuse] behiend seat.Only happened 3 times in 2 years,was just wondering if i should bump it up a bit.sorry for the confusion.Thanks

I would not bump it up. If you rand a wire from your ground bar to the battery neg terminal then it is not what you added causing the problems. According to the attached pic it should be a 10 Amp.
