Rolling Cart after HD Spring install???
I installed the HD Jakes springs and it seems my G22 is alot easier to flip over now. Seeing how its been done twice since the install. Its just stock with the HD springs running about 24mph top speed. Cart hasn't really messed up to much, but people are getting hurt. I know "slow down", just seems like they are so stiff it makes the cart roll alot easier than it would with the stocks. Im guessing since there isnt really any give in the suspension its just rolling.
Anyone else run into this problem, or are we the only crazy ones on a golf carts? Drinkin and drivin doesnt help much either Im sure. I have learned to take it easy now, but Im worried about the other idiot friends I have... |

My suggestions:
Time to consider not letting your "other idiot friends" drive/drive drunk. Or up your insurance coverages! Your call! |

Hey I didnt say it was just my idiot friends, I flipped it the first time. Learned my lesson then warned a friend of mine this weekend and not even 30 minutes later it flipped. He was acting stupid slamming the brakes and turning. But like I said I warned him. We where partying for my Bach. party and racing our carts out in a field. But of course you always have someone that takes to far.
We are responsible adults, just still live on the wild side a little until it bites us back. The main reason I ask is my friends G19 has a 6" kift and we drive it about the same, his doesn't seem to try to roll. Way more top heavy than mine. He still has the stock springs which are worn out pretty good, and Im thinking the extra give on the suspension actually helps a little. But his 23" tires to rub on the back over hills and sharp turns because of the weakness in the springs. And I dont have insurance yet, just got the cart and have been looking at my options though. I knew I was going to get beat down on this one!!!! I know we shouldnt get so crazy on them, exspecially when we have been drinking. But I am trying to figure if the HD springs or softer springs will be safer when lifted. Im thinking sofer is the way to go, just need more clearance for the movement. |

The whole trick to offroad driving is to push it to the limit without taking it over the limit ....... learn to drive better
And where are the videos |

My friend flipped it on the road/pavment. I flipped it on a golf course next to my house. As soon as I turned off the trail the tires grabbed the grass and we flew sideways!!! Stupid, but funny now. Learned to respect the cart more. |

You will have more body roll with softer springs which will move the center of gravity toward the outside of the turn. I really don't think the springs have anything to do with it. Stiffer is better but the line is the same if you cross it no matter what you are driving! |

Re: Rolling Cart after HD Spring install???
I didn't say all the time!!! Life would be boring if you walked a straight line all the time.
Ya I know, Im just trying to compare seeing how the lifted one isn't flipped yet. I really think the springs are to stiff. Not blaming the springs on what happend just thinking it may have something to do with it. I have done crazier thing on stock carts before, never had one flip though. |
