Losing R.P.M
I have a G2 gas burner. Recently when driving at top speed R.P.M. started going up and down when petal was held to the floor. This is not continuous. R.P.M. goes up and down. If you hold throttle 1/2 way it does fine. If pushed to the floor it goes up and then down. Please help!!

Re: Losing R.P.M
Yes the govenor is still connected. I have seen some post where oil in the air filter will cause this. I do have oil in my air filter. I am just curious to why it has just started doing this. I just bought the cart, but knew the previous owner he had no problems with this at all.

Re: Losing R.P.M
Make sure the oil level is correct and not over filled. Dirty carb will also surge the rpm in a lean condition (high speed jet gumed or partial restriction.
Pull it, tear it down and give it a good soak in carb cleaner. Replace the filter, they are not washable. |

Re: Losing R.P.M
Not without rejetting the carb and updating the exhaust system.
Yamaha's are kinda funny about not running right without the stock air box sealed properly and a good filter in it. |

Re: Losing R.P.M
Any good quality motor oil will be fine, 1 quart.
