Default Drive Belt adjustment??

Hello all............ have a 2009 Yamaha Drive Gas... every time I start out I get a squeal from the drive belt. Wondering if there is an adjustment to take up some of the slack so the clutch engages quicker and possibly reduce the squeal... Find it hard to believe i need a new belt already but if no adjustment or other solution will have to buy new belt. Happy Halloween

Don't buy one. It will be covered under warranty. Trust me. It's really hard to get off (secondary clutch is just to close to the differential) have a dealer do it for you.

Yes the starter/generator belt can slip and make a "squeel" noise, but I just switched out 52 drive belts on a fleet friday because of that "squeeling" noise. At this time Yamaha has no awnser for it. No there is no adjustment for your drive bely...Sorry. Dave

I agree with checking the starter/gen belt. You could spray some belt dressing on it, that usually stops the squeak. It is sticky and may attract dust. Dont use it on the drive belt or clutches!
The other thing is you can turn the belts around. Sometimes pulling the other direction takes out the sqeaks. Sometimes not....
I also agree with the warrenty part. You shouldn't have to do anything, yet.

Thanks Boys......don't suspect gen belt is the problem, appears to be tight, will talk to my dealer for warranty if not will try to change direction of belt as tonyton suggested. Cart still pulls well just an annoying squeal on takeoff........ thanks for your input....GULF

Keep us posted Gulfman, don't hear about the drive belt squeaking often but then smallblock changing out 52 of them might mean a bad production run of them.
Belt Co. might have gone to a less expensive material in the belt to cut cost and this could be the result?
Give the Dealer a chance to rectify the problem.
