Default G9 Rear Top Support ?

Hey guys first post here. Great site and very informative. I have a question. I have a G9 with a 4" inch lift, 8 inch offset wheels, flip down windshield and a roof/top. I need some pics of the proper way to mount the rear supports. The previous owner(s) have so many holes drilled in the support poles, that I can't tighten up the bolt and nut because of the blasted side panels. I don't know to modify a notched section in side panels, so I can retain the current mounting setup. Basically there is a nut and bolt to the metal frame where the seat backs come up that is covered up by the side panels.

Thanks!

To remove the side panels, you need to drive the small pin out of the center of the plastic rivets that hold them on.Try to tap them out easy so they don't go to far because you will need to reinstall them. Once there off you can tighten the roof supprot properly.
Two of the four bolts have spacers between the support and side frame. You can use several washers if they are not there.

OK, thanks. I believe my situation will still not work in this senerio. My support bars mount behind the white side covers. I can't get to the inside not to tighten down because of the side covers. So I modified the covers by notching that section out of the way for easy access. Upon finding the correct the way to have rear bows mounted, I can always purchase new side covers.

Can you post some pics of what you have. I think I know what you are saying, but if you had some pics it would be easier. I have seen G9's with different styles of rear support bars.

There are two types of supports on these. One is on the pillar posts beside the seat and the other (mostly G2's) is on a support behind the seat. If yours are on the pillar posts, you'll have to remove the plastic side panels by tapping out the center portion of the push in retainer clips. Then you can mount it to the back side of the pillar post (two 13mm bolts on each side). The rear type mount should have a u shaped bar coming off the back of the seat support. The frame mounts to this bar usually with two metal brackets that encase both the top frame and u shaped bracket. These are about 4 inches long and take 4 14mm bolts each.

We're trying to tell you how to get the side panels off of the pillars to access the roof support bar to tighten it. maybe it's to early in the morning for me and I missed something.
I agree about some pictures.

That may be a possibility.

crash, I was looking thru some pics on the lifted carts album and ran across your Yamaha, and that rollbar/roofsupport is exactly what I want for my G9, is that aftermarket or custom made? By the way I live outside of Beckley and the Burning Rock ATV leg of the Hatfield McCoy system is about 10 miles from me.

Don't laugh, the G9 I just bought had the rear top supports attached with duck tape.
