Default clutch spring

I installed 6" lift w/ 23" tires...also installed secondary clutch kit ..problem is that I can't drive the cart at lower speeds(campground) If I put the stock spring back in will I get low speed drivability back ? (I don't offroad & the only thing I climb is the ramps on my truck )Will stock be sufficient ?

Is this the spring/spacer torque kit? If so, it may not be properly installed. You should have good low speed and torque. Did you get a spacer with the kit or you still using the c-clip? If still using the c-clip, did you remove it when installing the spacer? Does the belt start out all the way to the top of the rear clutch or is sunk down somewhat between the sheaves? How much threads are showing on the end of the shaft where the 17mm nut is installed on the rear clutch system: there should be about 1/4 to 1/2 inch threads showing with the nut tightened.

Thanks for the quick response...Yes I removed the clip & installed the spacer, belt starts at top & There is about a 1/2 " of thread...When trying to keep at the posted 5 mph limit ... starter generator keeps kicking in & out until I speed it up ..at 10-15 runs fine w/ alot of torque..

Sounds like maybe the throttle cable is adjusted too tight. Just first guess at this point.

What kind of cart are you working on?
Make sure your throttle plate in the carb is closing all the way when off of the pedal.
It needs to close to the plate, not the stop screw. Screw the stop screw out and then back in just until it touches the shaft arm.
Adjust the throttle so the micro clicks on just before the throttle starts to open and you will have all the low end control and torque you would ever want.
Those torque spring kits are worth it and a good Idea with 23"!
