If the play is in the steering box, Loosen nut #11 and tighten screw #10 until
the play is gone then retighten the locknut #11. See diagram. Hope this helps! http://www.tntgolfcar.com/yamparts.php?diagramid=77 |

I know alot of people ask the same question... You have a "worm shaft" "pitman" steering assy. There will always be play. My recomedation... Take the top plate off your steering box. Pack the whole cavity with grease (this realy helps, wont hear the "clunking" noise) then reinstall the top plate. Then "jack up" the front end and loosen the the 10mm jam nut on the pitman adjustment screw. With a helper.. turn the screw in and have your helper turn the steering wheel. When a "binding" at any point in turning the wheel, back off the set screw 1/4 turn untill there is no "binding" at any point in the "total" steering "lock to lock". I'm sorry to say.. you may not like the "play about 1 to 1 1/2" but I like it because it's self centering (turn the wheel, let go, and it will return to straight) try that with "rack and pinion steering". Good luck and post your findings. Later Dave
