Anything "extra" on the cart? Take the top off. Remove the bumpers... any excess weight you can remove will help. Taller tires will add some speed but lose some torque. Skinny tires will help some, too.
How far are you willing to go and how much are you willing to sacrifice?

Check with our sponsors for things like carb jet, performance air filter, modified exhaust. All relatively inexpensive. Larger diameter tires would really help.

A lift and big tires are the way to go that gears it up and you hit around 30 or so with no governor. You can get high speed gears if you don't want to lift them. It does lose a little torque, but some work on the clutches can usually get you going ok. Most engine mods don't do a lot and you just run out of rpm without a lift or gears. Exhaust can make it sound different, can also put an advance key in the flywheel though you have to take it off to do it but is cheap. If you get big tires look for something that is rounded so the center touches on hard surfaces, that is faster. You can fit 20" lawn type tires on most stock carts it helps a little.

thanks i have a lift but i only have 21 inch tires. i cut baffles out of exaust straight piped it. and drilled out main jet, high flow air filter. very happy just need to find some decent sized tires just trying to get the cash. does anybody know were i could find a used set other than eBay/craigs list. ive looked in those places and have been unsuccessful.

I would go back into the clutches, Some thing is wrong you should not have lost 5 mph unless the engine is very tired.
