Default Finally Built My Lift Tonight

I did it I built my lift very easy I am not a welder or fabricator this was actually only my second time welding but I now have a welder in my garage and hope to do a lot more. I used crash12888 plans with the hitch up front and plan on making a bumper that slides in so I can take it off to fit in my truck. The lift only took about 6 hrs or so but it looks awesome I still have to redo the shock mounts or I will try to find some atv shocks about the right length. The shock length was the only part I messed with for a while so I didn't have \ / or / \ but I got it right now. Thanks again crash and every one else for the help oh and doomsman for the tools I burrowed. here are some pics

Love it when a plan comes together!!
Looks like around 5 1/2" lift, nice wide stance in the front also.
I like it and the best part is you still got coin in your pocket!

On the front shock mount, I used a piece of 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 square tubing, whatever size the shock fit in, cut the bottom out of each end, drilled it for the shock bolts.
Welded it the same distance down as the lift. I think the stock spring/shocks ride better than atv shocks and I didn't need any more travel than stock.

I got just over 6" with the lift 1" forward and 1" out on each side so 2" total then I had to extend the the tie rod adjustment bars to make it work. I was thinking about doing the same with the square tubing for the shock mounts it will be a lot more sturdy than what I got.

Nice Jason, you may want to triangulate a brace on the track bar mount.

I like it - but then I often like "home made" over purchased as long as they do the job safely and well.
How much did you add to the tie rods ? Any pics of that? I'm interested as I may soon be doing something similar.
