How much power?
I am completely new to this. I have a G22 Yamaha.I am going to lift my cart(Jake's of course) and run 20" or 22" tires. I want to run the 22's but I am scared of power loss. I will mainly run around the house and a little wheeling. Will it pull out of a rut or ditch with no mods to engine? Please let me know because I have some money and it is burning a hole!
Sorry to be so needy, just want to get the most bang for the buck! |

Re: How much power?
I would say run the 22" tires and install a torque spring in the driven clutch. You will be pleased!

Re: How much power?
I put a 6" lift, 22" tires and a new belt on a g-22 and it seem to pull a lot better to me than a g-16 with same tires and a white spring and new belt. I would try with a new belt and without the spring first and then if you didn't like it order the spring from a site sponsor.

Re: How much power?
Thanks! I called Jake's and the lady told me it should be fine, but if not just get their power kit. Much trouble to install? I am fairly mechanical, just wondering if I need a puller of some sort.
Nice avatar by the way! |

Re: How much power?

Re: How much power?
Saber, is the secondary sheave on a 22 different than a G8 or 9?
The steering wheel puller was the perfect tool for my G8. Mike |

Re: How much power?
Ok, I am thinking of the 22/10/10 Duro Sahara and the Revolver wheel with a 6" Jake's. Are some of you running spacers? I have noticed the same tire looking narrow and wider on the Yamaha's.
