Welcome to BGW!!

These 2 carts are completely different. The G1 is a 2 stroke engine the G2 is a 4 stroke engine. The drive trains are different as well as the frames.

If the G2 is a 2 stroke then someone changed it. Stock G2's are all 4 stroke. Should be no problem to install a lift kit unless someone has modified the frames.

I believe G2 didn't come out until 1985 and they are 4 stroke like NG said. If they are both 2 strokes you have 2 G1's and they should be similar carts

looks like Ron beat me to it
I suppose someone could have changed motors, although I've never heard of people altering their carts on this forum

No I screwed up there both G1's. I'm just not sure if I should trade being there so old.I'd like to lift them and fix up but new to gascarts. I know elec. carts are ez to lift and change motors for speed or torque.

I've never been a fan of electric so I would say it's worth it. Just think, no battery replacement and you just add gas and go. I have had 4 G1's and they have all been bullet proof. They look nice lifted also. The only downfall is that they are two strokes. Just my 2 cents. Good luck and post some pics of the beauties!
