Default Start of Project

I finally figured out how to post a picture so here goes.
This is a 1992 G8 gas cart. It's in really nice shape, obviously well looked after and kept inside. Bodywork is flawless and it runs nice. The windshield is different from most others.

I'm going to put on 12 inch chrome low profile wheels/tires(if I can ever get anyone to call me back with prices, shipping etc). I will also paint it using base coat/clear coat. Main use will be getting around at horseshows watching my daughter compete as well as trying to sell the tack boxes I build. I'll also put a cooler in the bagwell.
(www.blackberryhollowtacktrunks.com) . These are high end(read EXPENSIVE) so I'm trying to project an upscale image with the cart.

I'll post more pics as it progresses.

Fred, you must be in Washington. We use to get those cars in wodden crates and the owner of the distributorship was a Boeing designer, so we had custom aluminum frames/wrap around windsheilds and "denver" tops to make it all work. Don't break the windsheild..there almost 400.00 now. Keep us posted, can't wait to see what you have in store.

Actually, while I live in Vancouver (don't come to the Olympics or you'll be sorry) I bought the cart in Washington State.
I have looked at the windshield with a suspicious eye for exactly the reason you stated. Its in good shape now but I think I will make a cardboard template. I'm not sure how hard it would be to fabricate a new one. Just need a big enough oven to heat it, I guess. I do some powder coating and have a small oven but the powder coating guys are pretty industrious and it wouldn't be too difficult to build a temporary oven using a construction heater. Anyway its probably easier just to look after it.
