Default Need HELP, adapting Atv clutch to Generator engine

I took my Polaris clutch and my Vtwin engine to the machine shop today. He told me that if I had him build an adapter, with the speed the clutch will be spinning, "it would blow up and I would be picking pieces of metal out of my butt." The guy didn't seem all there, but he knows more than me so maybe he was. My question is this, am I wasting my time trying to get and Atv clutch to fit my engine. My cart is a 1991 G9, will the Atv clutch work with the stock secondary clutch? The shop wanted to bore the Atv clutch to the same taper as the generator crankshaft (for $260,) to me that seems like a bad idea. This seemed like a good idea (with the free engine,) but I'm out of my league and this is getting expensive. I need the pros (you guys) to give me some suggestions, any feed back is greatly appreciated.

how bout a new clutch for your v twin? you'll likely get more performance out of it, maybe one of those new cv tech ones? for 260 bucks you could almost get a new comet/cvtech one that will fit correctly.

The issue is, there are no known clutches or adapters made to fit or adapt a generator taper. I'm not an expert, make it happen and the world will beat a pathway to your door!

I'm definately going to find a wake to make this work, but I was wondering why people don't use ATV Clutches (besides the fact they have a taper inside?)
