Default g-14 air filter box

i read in other posts that it(filter box )has to have a good seal to run right or it will back fire.. if this is the case then would i not be able to have an after market intake with filter? (ex: K&N)

the stock setup runs very lean if you run a K&N filter like R-1050 inside the air box you will need to run a bigger main jet

That is why if it is stock it needs to be a perfect seal (air box) if not is doesn’t get sufficient amount of gas for air ratio & you have to choke it to run

I run a R-1050 K & N with a .062" inches main jet but the head is ported

with a stock head you will run a .042 to .046

hope it helps

Maybe you could try "parts or cars/parts for sale sections" ? For example I have one off my G8 that I don't need. Let me know buy PM if you can't find another one. Later Dave
