Re: Ideas For Fabricated Bumper G1
I took the easy way out, ran down to the Honda ATV shop, grabbed a kimpex front bumper from his stock room of 50 or more, gave the man $25 and welded it to the existing "U" channel under my original bumper rubber covering. Its not real pretty but it was cheap and quick.

Re: Ideas For Fabricated Bumper G1
wish i woulda kept the old thing, Paid $500 for it, was an 88 i think.slapped some paint on it, guy offered me $1500 so i took it, then couldn,t find a replacement.I did buy one just today though, down in southern Maine. 1995 G14 for $1200, prob enough, but it was in good shape, now i can,t get it across the border. It has to stay a mandatory 72 hours on USA side till they check serial for Leans and stolen, now they're telling me since i can,t produce Certificate of Origin, i prob can,t Export it to canada, what a buncha hogwash, gees. Its Freakin 15 years old.Now i'm gonna contact Yamaha Motor Corp tomorrow with serial see if they will do anything for me,who knows..

Re: Ideas For Fabricated Bumper G1
I went through the same thing with my G8. But I knew before hand that you had to submit paperwork 72 hours prior. I also didn't have a certificate of origin but I kinda hopped from foot to foot, gee whized a bit and said that the thing was 17 years old and probably had 5 or 6 owners and was kinda like a lawnmower. They accepted that and even waved the 72 hours. It really bothers me to havta kiss ***.
Good luck Fred |
