One last clutch question about my G-16
Now that I have the big bolt out and I am looking at the clutch with the spider assembly in it do I absolutely need the puller? If I take a steel rod and a 5/8-18 bolt cant I use that instead of ordering a removal tool? Also I happened to be looking at the forum on the other site that shall not be named and I must of read 20 posts where the tool doesnt work and that they used a 2x4 and a hammer and the clutch just pops right off.I double checked to make sure they were doing this to a yamaha and it was to a g14 and a g16. I dont want to mess things up and being permanently disabled I cant afford the 40 bucks for the tool. Plus I live in a town with less than 900 people and not one sled or bike shop to take this to.I am currently saving all my pennies for the plowmans big bore kit. Antway what do you think about thebolt and rod trick that some people use. I am only going by the size 5/8-18 for the bolt because thats what others are saying they are using.
