Default G1 Deceleration Marble Rattling Noise - Ideas?

I have a used G1 that has been sitting for a long time. Did a tuneup but still need to clean out and totally change the oil reservoir. Ran out the old tank of gas and filled it, and that did improve things a little.

My little buggy run as I would suspect for an older, slower, cart; but it does get a rattling, marble-like sound on deceleration at times and it does decelerate occasionally at wide open. It goes uphill like a little champ.

I have not purchased a service manual yet or done anything to really 'dig into' this buggy, been too busy with health problems. I live in a retirement community where we can drive on the streets with our golf carts and my other vehicle is a gas-guzzling van, so this little buggy (I hope) will get me mobile on most days. So learning more about it is important to me.

Thanks for any suggestions or thoughts you can share......

Question Re: G1 Deceleration Marble Rattling Noise - Ideas?

Pulled the muffler today to make sure that it was not a backup there, but it ran exactly the same. Runs good running uphill, a little rattling on a flat run and a lot of rattling going downhill. I am thinking that it is the carburetor being gummed up. I would really like to hear some thoughts on this and what to check out next.

Thanks....

Sharon, I'm not a 2 cycle guy, but I can tell you to read all the posts on G1's on this site and you can probably answer your own questions. These guys have seen it all, and I bet your problems have been discussed before in earlier posts.
