Default Couple G2 questions

I have a couple questions on my G2. First is has anyone removed the pan under the engine and would it hurt anything if I did? Second question is, is there a difference between a utility body cart and a regular cart I.E. engine size.

My G9 was missing the engine shield when I got it. Haven't had any issues without it and it has been years. Also the engine gets more air flow and it's easier to keep clean. I don't know about the engine size.

I lean the other way, a friend has G2 in his shop right now with a hole in the rear end from hitting a rock. Lost all oil, and burned it up. Looking for another rear end now.
I welded 1/4" nuts on mine where the rivets are supose to go, and install the pan with 1/4" bolts so now I can remove it easily for maint.or cleaning.
I ride in alot of rocks tho. and I like to think it may keep out a little bit a water on the clutch.

My G9 didn't have a cover. I do a lot of off roading and creek riding so I made one and installed it. If you'll be running over rocks, you need some type of shield. I don't think there is a difference in engine size with the utility model of a G2 but not sure.

I have 2 G2's, and when the plate is on they run quieter.

I agree, that "spash sheild" will not protect the rearend case. If you off road, build yourself a skid plate/sheild out of some steel.

Also I bent a 1/4 ta 5/16" lip up on all the edges of the pan to stiffen it up. Made quite a difference in strength. Maybe not bash plate strong, but I've been riding/racing off road for many yrs. and got pretty good at picking my course. Lucky here I guess.

Mine never had one, but a rear end cover would be nice. Most of my offroading is in the woods and trails, so the rocks are pretty small if I see any. Mostly sand and hard pack dirt, a little swamp if I dare.

The utility carts had the same thing under the box far as I know, but they did have a different spring in the secondary to pull more weight. I plan on getting one.
