Default Stopping front-end sag

Ever since I installed the Jakes single A arm on my G8, when 2 adults would drive my cart the front end would sag. I thunked up this idea:http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/image...n_confused.gif I installed one "split shaft coupling" (from a bearing belt and chain supply store) at the bottom of each shock spring.

With my particular spring set up I would have had to press out the top shock bushing to install shim washers and I had no press.
I didn't take pictures of the process,(cause I didn't know if it would work), and the way I did it I felt like I had a loaded gun pointed at my head. So you will have to invent your own method of install.

I measured the diameter of the shock, mine was 1 1/4" OD, so I called the bearing store and they were $4.00 ea.

After getting them on, I was able to go back to the second hole (from the outside) on the Jakes A arm, and the ride is just a bit stiffer with just me in it, but 2, 200 lb. men can ride in my car and the tires are stright up.

I've driven it about 50 mi. most off road and it has held up very well, nothing has moved. I did paint it with a heavy coat of paint to prevent rust and since I didn't lock tight the screws.

I didn't keep my home make spring compressor, vowing to never use it again, and to build a better one if there is ever a next time!

Hope this helps some people, get ideas on correcting this problem, I think it worked well for me!! Mike
