Default G-14 using oil

I have a 95 g-14 that uses oil. Compression is around 100. How difficult is it to rebuild the top end and do I need to pull engine? Thanks in advance for all replies.

Welcome. Yes pull the motor. Might want to do a search for "engine rebuild" in this section. Alot of good info. Your engine should be 155 to 175 lbs compression, so 100 ..not good. Did you take the compression reading at wide open throttle and a good battery? When buying parts, make shure to order them for the G14, It uses rings/piston/head gasket for only that engine. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the information. When i checked the compression i turned over for about three turns and then got reading from gauge. Where on this forum would I check for a rebuilt engine? Would really like to do the rebuild if it makes sense from a cost perspective. I have just always wanted to rebuild an engine . I am not a mechanic but I have friends that are.
