Default G16 engine in a G2?

The engine in my G2 has needed a ring job/rebuild for quite some time now and after this weekend at the campground I think the engine finally went south. I can buy a complete G16 engine with the wiring harness for next to nothing. My questions are.....Will the G16 engine bolt in place? And what other mods will would have to be done? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.....Mark

I don't think it's going to bolt right in. May have to build a mounting bracket. If the G16 is a good running engine, buy it for re-sale and put the money toward a big block kit.

That is a great idea, but unfortunately that cart just isn't worth it. Plus then I will have 2 carts I can't bring out to the campground. I put a Yamaha 340 sled motor in another G2 we have and the owner told me to get that thing out of the campground and don't ever bring it back...lol

With the complete engine and wireharness, Like Ron said, you'd need to fab a new mount for engine and muffler. Would the clutchs line up? Would the air box hit the gas tank? Would the muffler hit the battery? Could be a complete new fabbed engine transaxle swing arm to make it work. You going to "flip" a coin on your decission? RUDEINC, if you can install a sled motor in a G2, I don't see any reason you can't do this. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
