Speed spring holds your governor open more for higher speeds, here:

Do a search, I think I remember someone posting pix of the spring installed.

Chompy, are you the Chompy from the "other" site? Welcome to BGW!

Great picture, Thanks. It came with printed instructions with a picture but the copy was very faded and could not make it out. This helps a lot.

No problem, Its a little harder to install on the G2/9 because the muffler is in the way and I see your cart has a rear seat which makes it even harder to see in there. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Ya, Tom may "cheap out" on the photo coping of the instructions, but all his parts are top notch I bought new "stiffer" primary clutch springs and didn't come with instructions....so I just called him up and he explained over the phone. Got to love that.

Yeah, that's what I thought they were (speed springs). I don't really recommend these springs. They just put excessive pressure on parts that really weren't designed for it. You will wear out the govenor shaft hole if you drive a lot and your fork will start to rub on the govenor weights inside the tranny. If you really want to go faster just bypass the govenor. @GMB74. Thanks for the welcome. I am the same "chompy"

Chompy
Not trying to start a pissing contest here, But have you ever used a speed spring? I have never seen ANY of these problems.

I drive a golf cart to work 11 months each year it has a 18hp vtwin 8:1 high speed gears 215-35-12 tires and a speed spring. It is mostly driven between 20 and 40 MPH and has been for the last 5 years. It easily sees 1500 miles a year and has had zero of the problems you mentioned. It also is on the original 2002 throttle cable.

Smallblock is a pretty good size Yamaha dealer and has installed many of our speed springs, Dave have you ever seen any of these failures or problems
