Default Different G16 audio install

Ok me being short of funds and in the need of tunes I decided to improvise. I took a cheap ($14) chinese amp and a set of duel marine speakers and an MP3 player with a radio and decided to see what I could do.I had some 16 ga sheet steel and fabbed up the speaker mount and mounted the amp in the lower dash. I added some sheet aluminum to shield the amp from water coming in from the drink holders. I will probably make some type of cover for the front of the amp. Just plug in the mp3 player and go. I even put a USB plug in to charge the device. Seems to wok fine..

Brilliant!!!

I have the same philosophy with tunes on an outdoor vehicle. Golf carts, boats, ORV's, Snowboards... Admittedly it's damned hard to install a car stereo on a snowboard. Outdoor speakers, cheap amp and an 1/8 input for your state of the art mp3 player what more do you really need? Why bother with a car stereo when all you use it for is to plug in your device to play your preferred tunes? Who really listens to the radio or actually carries CD's with them anymore?

Nice mod!

Great install!! I especially dig the Yuengling!! The whole amp and MP3 player thing is spot on, mine is out of sight with just a 1/8 jack and a volume control. I put a 5 watt solar panel on the roof and hardwired it into the motorcycle battery that I'm using, so now I only have to check water levels, and the wife doesn't have to plug in the aux charger.

At least I do not have to worry about someone lifting an expensive radio.
