Default Help, cart runs like crap after starter/generator brush replacement

Hello I have a '96 G14 and after installing new brushes it has very little power.Batery has 12.6 volts and doesnt change with engine running. If i just push pedal down about 1/4 of the way it runs smooth anything over 1/4 pedal and it cuts out and sometimes backfires. It ran fine before brush replacement.***For additional info see thread titled "G14 starting issue"

Andy, I'll bump this up for ya: There is no logical reason a brush replacement would cause this, unless in the process you a ground was compromised. More than likely it is something else that just "Murphyd" you......

You removed the air box to get to starter. Double check and make sure it is sealed good.

Are you certain the motor is even running a quarter throttle?
When you change brushes, you have to make sure the brush leads do not hamper the movement of the brushes in their housing and that they make unobstructed contact with the armature.
Drags are on, more later!!
