G2 won't turn over
I got a 90 g2 given to me that hasn't ran in 5 years. I got it running but the battery wouldn't charge (new battery) so I assumed it was the voltage regulator. I charged the battery and it wouldn't turn over. So I then picked up a voltage regulator and wouldn't turn over. If I jump from the battery side of the relay to the starter side it will turn over. I then ran 12v directly to the coil (the one from the pedal switch) and the two sides of the relay (battery and starter side) will have continuity. But I will not have 12v to the starter. If I jumper the battery side to both the starter side and the positive of the coil (the one coming from the pedal) it will turn over and fire and run just fine.
When I push on the gas pedal the relay will click about 10% of the time, but won't turn over. Do you think it could be something on that circuit bringing down the voltage? Bad relay? Bad ignitor? Both 10 amp fuses are good. Thanks in advance for the help. |
