Default premix ratio 150:1?

well i just got my cart back from golf cart mechanic and it was the cdi that was causing me no spark. well it works fine now but seems to be more sluggish than before, plenty of get up and go but top end doesnt seem to be as high. also my mechanic told me my mix at 50:1 was way to rich and then showed me the owners manual which said the mix ratio was at 150:1. he said to do it 100:1 and i would have no problems. now i know alot of you run way richer than that so what should i be mixing at? and point me in the way of things to do in the garage at home to get some more speed, i have the governor screw screwed all th way in

I would run the 100:1 like he said, see how it runs.

Use a good racing synthetic oil like Maxima - I would and suggest 40:1. DONT USE WEEDEATER OIL OR A MARINE OIL! 150:1 sounds way too lean, that's less than 1 ounce per gallon...

whats the diffrence between racing oil and marine 2cycle? i use yamahalube which i get from my work, its the same stuff used in pretty much eveything yamaha sells, including marine motors. and my cart smokes burnt oil like crazy from using just 50:1 mix, i would think 40:1 would be way to rich.

As stated, marine oil is different. I don't know why - I'm not a chemist, I just know that marine oil on land is a really rich mixture. Try some Maxima 927 or Super M (they sell small 16 oz bottles) and see for yourself. 40:1 is 16 oz oil / 5 gallons fuel.

At the risk of sounding dumb---are you guys doing away with the oil injection like on the G1 and just mixing your own??
