Smile G2 Rebuild Pics

For nearly 2 years I've been rebuilding the G2a that I bought from work. It's still a work in progress, but I thought I'd share some of the pics.

The album is at http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...2-rebuild.html

Thanks to all at BGW for the priceless information I've found here! I wish I had known about this site when I started...

If you see anything I've done wrong, please don't hesitate to point it out.

Enjoy! I sure have been!

PS - Yes, I'm also restoring the CC pictured at left. Got it from work also. It's photo album is at http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...e-s-carts.html

Looks like you are doing a fine job.

The drive belt looks a bit loose to me in this pic.

Steve, just looked at your photos. Your car looks great!! Yes, you can paint the plastic shrouding on the motor. I did 900 mi. ago. You came along way with that thing, love to see carts brought back from the scrap heap!! You've given it another life!!
$60!! You stole that thing!

Thanks for the kind words! It has a long way to go, but I'm lovin' every minute of it!

I do need to replace the drive belt, along with the main spring in the primary clutch.

Now I'm tempted to pull the engine and paint the shrouding. That looks awesome!

I'll add more pics as progress is made...

Thanks, all! I'm having a blast with this little buggy!

I still have some paint work to do on the frame, and some minor plastic repair on the body, but it's coming along. I picked up a plastic welder from Harbor Freight, and I'm getting the hang of it.

The clutch cover was painted with aluminum paint, along with all the small steel parts.

I'm currently installing new seat covers, and new foam in the seat bottom. After that, I can finally start driving it. Woo-hoo!

Got the seats put together - the bottom was a pain in the a$$! My Club Car had a simple board as a base, but the Yamaha has a plastic base with lots of bends and curves. It came out OK, and tomorrow will be the first drive!
