g2 nothing but problems
I have had nothing but problems with this cart. When you try to run it without the choke it sort of backfires from the carb into the air box and moves the cart a little But when I have the choke on it runs fine. Just got a brand new air box, lid ,and gasket for it so it should not be the air box I alspo checked the black spacer behingd the carb for cracks but nothing please HELP

Re: g2 nothing but problems
There is a ground connection right in front of the generator, it goes from the gen. end plate to the main Yamaha wire harness with a bullet connector just in front of the gen. Check to make sure it is a tight connection.
Check again for air leaks. Take the air filter housing out of the car and assemble it on a work bench so you can see that all the little assembly channels fit into their proper place and that there is an O ring gasket in the lid channel. Many housings were improperly assembled over the yrs. and they kinda retrained them selves to fit incorrectly, so you have to look and understand how they go together. Hope these 2 things help! Mike Just reread your thread- it said you got new lid and gasket, but make sure its on correctly. |

Re: g2 nothing but problems
You also might want to check the float level and the pilot (mixture) screw on the carb, as it sounds like it's running lean. Is the fuel pump OK? is the fuel filter clean?
The float level is 14.5 mm. It's measured from the float bowl gasket surface to the bottom of the float. Check it with the carb inverted, but at an angle so the entire float's weight is not on the needle valve. The pilot screw should be lightly bottomed, then backed out 1 1/2 turns. Hope this helps. |
