81 G1 New Pump and No Start
I have an 81 G1 and continue to have issues with it. It hasn't run since I got it. I was able to get it running a bit with some starting fluid. I noticed at one point I was getting very little fuel coming from pump. Replaced it with a Briggs pump that I got at a repair shop. It is a black circle style pump. Problem is, it will not pump,then it will pump.Checked lines and filter and everything is good. Whats with the flow here??? It wont even fill the bowl on carb?? I also checked spark and it is kind white vs blue,...what does that tell me?? Plug in it is an NGK B6HS. Thanks for the help on this one.

check the crank seals. if they are bad and leak your crank case will not make vacuum to run your fuel pump. if you search ( Yamaha G1 seal replacement files ) that will tell you how to change them. it worked for me.
