g2 carb question
i have a g 2 and i took the carb apart to clean it real well and when i put it back together and hooked everything back up no fuel is being allowed into the carb. i have fuel in the fuel line going to the carb but when i turn it over i get no fuel in the carburator. its almost like the stem on the carb where the fuel like goes on to is blocked or somthing.... does anyone know what i may be able to check or replace...thanks

Re: g2 carb question
Did you mess w/ the float on the carb at all? Are you sure the fuel is flowing to the carb?

Re: g2 carb question
Sounds like the needle valve is stuck closed, or the inlet is plugged. Make sure the float pivots freely. Also, pull the fuel line at the carb inlet and check your fuel pump output.
Let us know what you find. |

Re: g2 carb question
The needle valve is hooked to the float. If the bowl is empty, the float should hang free, the needle valve should be down, off the valve seat, and you should be able to blow into the inlet tube.
You should be able to remove the bowl without having to remove the carb from the engine, but it's much easier to see what's going on with the carb on the workbench. Years ago, I rebuilt a carb, and when I installed the bowl, the gasket slipped off and got caught under the float, holding it closed. You just never know, but your problem should be a simple fix. |
