1982 Yamaha G1 weak spark
Would appreciate any help. Getting just a weak spark, even with a brand new plug. What are the best things to check first?

Re: 1982 Yamaha G1 weak spark
Check the wiring and wiring connectors. Loose/corroded connectors and chafed wires are pretty common on these old buggies. Especially check the four wires coming out of the flywheel area for bad connections. Check the harness in the battery/muffler area for chafing and melting.

Thanks, I'll do that.
If the CDI was faulty, what would the symptoms be? How do you test it? |
