Default G2/G9 lift tire question

This may have been asked before but I cannot find an exact answer in any searches. I see in a few posts that some have or had a G2 or G9 with 25 inch tires and a 7" or 8" lift. How wide can your 25's be?

Do you need to do anything extra to make this work?

I plan to run a jakes long travel and lower and push back the swing arm (down 2 or 3 and back 2 inches) and wondered if I could run a 25 with a 2x5 offset on 12 inch rims? Do you think this would work? or should I stick with 23's or 24's.

Thanks

Not versed with lifts and wheel off-set. But your 9HP may have quite a tussle with 25" tall tires.

It think you can do it, but the rear bumper is the problem you need to move it back. If you lift really high you can fit larger tires but the right way is move the swingarm down/back a little and move the bumper and mounts back a little. Anything over 23 it is a must, or you will have a tippy cart going that high which is not ideal for offroad. With 15psi my tires measure 23, I can only fit my fingers between the bumper mount and tire and had to cut around 1.5" off the rocker and tie the well back behind rocker.

3" offset on the inside fits, my rims are 3+5-8 but not much clearance in there. 2" would be better. 22x11-8 trail pro tires. In fact here you can see how close it is. With weight in the box it is very close front and rear.

thanks for the help...power will not be an issue... a 23 vanny is in my future..

I am just planning rim/tire and lift right now. If I could only find the rims I want....I wish I could find ITP type 7 rims in black with aluminum accents/beadlock....

anyone know where to find these?...apparently they have been discontinued.

thanks again.

If you look closely at the photo you can see where I cut the rocker off at an angle pretty close to the mount behind it. The tire still clips the corner of the white body there with a lot of weight in it and I trimmed the corner a little too. If you look at the rear you can see the end of the well that makes a sort of mudflap behind the tire, I can just fit my fingers in there and it gets tighter with weight. If you moved that part back maybe 3" and the cradle 1.5", or something like that, you would have room for 25s. Maybe a little more with large 25s or larger. You would not have to go much higher than this, or could have a lot of travel with them. I think my floor is 18" high iirc not positive. But again I tried to keep it low just enough to carry weight in box, so it corners great trail riding and I can run side hills no problem its not tippy.

Keep looking someone might have them. Those are 22x11 trail pro tires, they measure 23 high in back at pressure I keep them at. It will have a clone motor real soon, but I'd rather do another cart than redo the lift on this one. Then again who knows, the other cart I'm working on the guy says he wants to buy a pipe bender and make a cage. He might get me in trouble.
