Will the Rear In my g14 hold up??
Ok I got a 96 g14 it had a blown up go-cart motor rigged in it when i got. Alomost everything is missing it`s just frame and body. I decided instead of buying a new motor and cables and everything eles that is missing I will put a honda Three wheeler motor in it that I have laying around. My question is will the rear end hold up to this kind of power??? Have any of you guys done an over haul like this before? Also a manual on the rear would be great so I can see how the transmission works in it. Dont really need the trans because I got a trans in the honda motor. Any way any pointers that you guys have would be awsome .

Re: Will the Rear In my g14 hold up??
The G14 could have had either a Yamaha diff (serial# jn3-000101 to 118822) or a Dana/Spicer diff (serial#jn3-118823 and up). Most guy's run Bigblock's with either diff's and have no problems, I haven't had any problems yet with the one's I've built. What size is the 3 wheeler Honda motor? You might want to check out the Bigblock section. There is even a sub section for bike builds. The nice thing about those 2 diff's is you can have forward/reverse you'll just need the 2 f/r shift cables and shifter assy (if there not still there). Good luck on your build

It`s a 250 sx motor it has reverse so i would just leave the rear in foward and call it a day.

That's cool Guess depends what you want it to do, lifted and big tires for offroading ,then use the Honda rear axle and sell the Yami rear end (to help build costs), there hard to come buy and expensive, or stock cart and go fast/cruiser. The 250 isn't much bigger cc's wise, but I'be bet more hp.

If you are looking for cheap and have the clutch, you can drop a 15/16hp clone in it for about 3 bills. They don't go that fast but have good torque, unless you mod the engine some. About double the power of a stock engine.

Re: Will the Rear In my g14 hold up??
I have an engine that came with the cart but doing a little research I found out it`s a 4cyle 2 cylinder robin engine out of an ez-go cart so I don`t want to invest money into the engine if it`s not even for the cart nevermind everything eles that is missing out of the cart. I am in limbo right now not really sure what to do.
