1997 Yamaha Gas Hub Issues
I am workingo my friends 1997 Yamaha gas golf cart. He said that all of a sudden it stopped moving and the hub would spin and the wheel wouldn't. After looking at it myself I found the splines on the inside of the hub were worn smooth like they were never there. The axel has a little wear, but it dosen't look too bad. Why would this happen? I wouln't normally thing this would be a wear part, it looks like I will just need a new hub, but I am concerned on why this happen to begain with.
He just got the cart this year used, and afetr a tune up it has been running great up until this. -Andrew |

Re: 1997 Yamaha Gas Hub Issues
I would guess that the hub nut was left loose, and the hub was left to wobble on the axle, and being cast iron, it would wear much faster than the axle. And soon no zoom zoom!
Just zing zing! Sorry, to much beer! |
