Anyone know what this is?
Anyone know what this is? It is attached under the floorboard of my 1985 G1 but doesn't have anything attached to either pole. The handle moves back and forth. There is one black wire under the cart that is not attached to anything. Would it happen to connect to one of the poles?
Please forgive my ignorance. I'm new to the cart world, and am trying to gain as much knowledge as possible to keep my "new" '85 G1 running as long as possible! Last edited by dspikes; 10-30-2010 at 11:49 AM.. Reason: forgot to attach photo |

Re: Anyone know what this is?
Looks just like the brake light switch from a 1955 Chevrolet Pickup truck. I have one on my EZ-Go.

Re: Anyone know what this is?
Would the loose black wire attach to one of the poles? If so, does it matter which one? I can't find an electrical schematic that covers that part!

Re: Anyone know what this is?
It is an on/off switch without polarity. Check it with your digital voltmeter set to continuity to see if it works. Needs 2 wires to work... a current in and a current out wire

Re: Anyone know what this is?
Checks out ok with continuity meter. The black wire does go to the brake lights. Can't find a current-in wire, though. I don't know if the last owner disconnected it, or what. There is an available connector coming out of the back of the ignition switch. Can I use that? Also, what wire can I use to wire up a stereo system? Thanks, in advance, for the help!
