Get ahold of the drive clutch and see if you can turn it by hand.

I can't spin it by hand. Is there a chance the primary clutch is locked up? I don't think it has ever been greased. Or is it more probable the engine is locked up. If the engine is locked up, how hard would it be for a novice mechanic to get it running again?

Sounds to me the motor is locked up if you cant turn over by hand on the drive clutch. No way of telling how bad until you tear into it a little. Pull the to head is probably whats needed to check piston, crank and push rod and bearings. And yes you diffanetly need the big triangle bracket in the back lift.

I will see if I can find a backyard mechanic to come help me a little with it. I play with this stuff, but have never done any engine work before.

Although it is stated several times in this forum, only put 1 quart of oil in, could the extreme angle of the motor from the lift kit cause the oil splasher to not have the oil to splash, subsequently locking the motor up? I have driven the cart with the lift for probably 30 miles, but the longest run, prior to the long run that locked the motor up, was about 3 miles. Sounds like I will be taking this thing back apart and looking in the engine, or maybe selling it for cheap to cut my losses. Thanks for the help guys.

i have been running mine with lift and motor angle for almost 2 years with no problems. look at the clone motors for replacement. thats what i am putting in mine here shortly. i just need to order clutch for it. my motor still runs good though.

I have tried to do some research on a clone replacement, but haven't really found an all inclusive 'how to'. Is there much fabrication work, or is it close to a drop in system? Will the engine still start and stop based on the accelerator as a stock one does?
