Default Comet 94c vs. 1190

Hey guys I have a few quick questions...

My 94c clutch went out today on my g16 and its grinding horribly and is having troulbe operating. Im thinking about just ditching the 94c for a 1190. Does the 1190 come with a slot for the starter belt or its there a kit I can purchase to make this work?

Is it that much better than the 94c?

And finnally has anyone ran this clutch that can tell me if its worth 500 bucks?

Here is my current clutch Im running:

Here is the 1190:

Thanks guys!

YFL...My awnser is going to be one biased. First why use a 94c ? The engine has to over rev to just start the clutch to engage! Not a
"smooth" transition clutch in my opinion. Second, The 1190 is for "big blocks" with a (I beleive) 1 1/8" round/ and "keyed" crank shaft. Yours is a "tapered" crank shaft (for a "swedge" fit). My opinion is...See if Tom @ CPP has a good used g16 stock clutch (off one of his big block builds) and make shure the clutch rollers are not "flat". They can be replaced. It's really a good clutch...If you don't "overgrease" them. Good luck Dave

Hey thanks for the response..

The reason I need a 94c is because ive modified my engine to a key start. It idles and requres a clutch that can have a later engagment point...

Thanks for the "reason". Sometimes I respond without all the facts and I feel stupid for it. Maybe a stock clutch and a "slightly longer belt"? Kind of like we do with "big blocks"? Just a thought. Good luck Dave
