yamaha g1 crank bearings ?

would like to know if you have to split the cases to change out the crank bearings?

Yes, replacing the bearings requires splitting the crankcase and using press tools to remove and install the bearings. I highly recommend you get a repair manual to guide you through the process:

I am in the process of doing one now and can help you with specifics, but you need proper skills and tools to do it without damaging something.

Thanks for the answer. I don't know for sure yet if i need to replace them but will when I strip it down for seals.

Do a search on my handle, and you will see how I did my complete G1 rebuild with limited tools.

I did a search on your handle and there is nothing about your G1 rebuild on BGW, can you tell us where it is??
