Default Performance question ????

I'm getting ready to do some research testing here in a couple weeks on my G8 engine. Just wondering how many people will be interested in what I come up with. Getting a stock cam reground either by Dyno cams or a more local guy who says he can do it also.If not enough interest I won't waste the space for it. Not much I can do for pictures other than copies of the dyno sheets. Maybe put a youtube vid of the final dyno pull. Please dont ask why not change engines, thats not what I'm trying to do here.
Just trying to get info for anybody that wants to hop up the stock engine alittle, and has the ability to do so. Not trying to make a stump puller

Please keep a thread open on your build up, You will not be wasting space. Some guy's like "torque" IE: Bigblock, but it's not cheap. Some like "horsepower". If you have HP, you can always work the clutch's for low end. Have you thought about stiffer valve springs yet? Maybe just "shims" like the rev kits for Vangaurds. Good luck, your cam should be there soon.

Ya roc. keep it coming. I want to read about it even if I don't do it. Still love the technology. Just don't have the funds for the R&R. I kinda don't want to do a big block, because I want mine to stay all Yamaha.

You can make bigger HP out of small engines, you just need to spin them faster with more compression. Just look up Subarumouse or Tonyton threads. That can get expensive. What you want to do cam-wise is one-off custom, and needs lots of other upgrades to the engine to be truly effective. We all love to see these projects and how they work out, so go for it! But the fact is there is no substitute for cubic inches........

Ok .I'll be yanking my engine out in the next week or so. It runs and doesn't knock, it will be a solid fondation to work with.We will see on the springs when I get it open. There are all kinds of springs for small racing engines. I'm really not wanting this to turn over 5000-5500 rpm as I'm not sure what the plastic teeth on the cam will take, however since I have a test cam I will still have the stock one to put back in.
