engine weight

Does anyone know how much the G8-9 engines weigh without starter and clutch for shiiping purposes?

Have no idea. Might want to check here: http://yamahagolfcar.com/partsandservice/ Look at the owners and parts manual. Not sure if it will list this info or not. I'd guess you'll be looking at about $100 with UPS to ship.

If I remember right

A G1 engine with everything on it weighted around 80 lbs.

That helps a little. but the G1 is a 2 smoker (2 cycle)

I think a 23hp vanny is about 85#. I just lifted the stock motor out of my G9,it was definately lighter. I'm guessing 65-75# (without starting motor).

About 80 lbs, give or take a few pounds. The starter, if you want to know, is about 19.5 lbs.
