G9 custom lift questions
Will 4 front 400ex shocks work for replacing my stock shocks, I'm looking for a 5-6" lift overall and will weld up the other brackets.

Re: G9 custom lift questions
i believe the 400ex shocks are a fairly common swap to carts, you might wanna wait for an expert to correct me

Re: G9 custom lift questions
IIRC most use the rears, but only use one. If you mean doubles on the front seems like it should, and yes that would be cool.

Re: G9 custom lift questions
It would be cool if i weighed 350, but i meant 2 shocks in the front and two in the rear.

Re: G9 custom lift questions
Well, it seems that ATV fronts are too weak to hold up weight of a cart. So they often use the rear shocks that are stiffer....is what I was getting at. So I don't know if the front shocks will work or not they might be weak. It of course depends on how much travel you expect out of them and how much punishment you give the cart.
Go in the lifted carts section and try a search there are lots of posts about it. |

Re: G9 custom lift questions
400ex front shocks work great on the rear. Infact they are a bit on the stiff side for normal use but they handle a load GREAT. I have them all the way around on my G1

Re: G9 custom lift questions
I put 400 ex shocks on mine and they were way too soft so I took the springs off put a 4" piece of tube on and put the springs back on now its perfect

Hey jadawg, I'm not to far away from you. Wouldnt mind stopping by one of these days and taking a look at your cart to see how you did your suspension...

Re: G9 custom lift questions
No they were not worn out the front were actually take offs from a ltz400 taken off after about a week and changed to axis racing shocks if the golf cart had dual a-arms they would have worked fine but needed to stiffen them up to keep the tires from doing this / \ the rears were off of the 400ex and I stiffened them up too dont know if I needed to but I did
