Dead cart...just battery and belt or more?
My 06 Yam G22 quit just off the 9th green today, had been running well with some slight belt squealing of late (mostly on colder days). Its been towed to a safe storage spot till service pick-up is arranged. Would like to just jump battery & drive it home today, but would have to roll cart down hill to park next to car. If jump doesn't work, will not be able to get cart rolled back up hill to safe storage spot. Any opinions on what chances are of electrical problem besides battery (relay, solenoid, etc); making battery jump useless?
Thanks in advance for any feedback. |

Re: Dead cart...just battery and belt or more?
Was it already running when it quit or was the cart at rest and it wouldn't start?

Cart was not running, wouldn't start after just being used for 9 holes of golf...meaning many short runs & stops during the round. Thanks for asking.

Did it sound like starter was turning? Maybe the belt is loose or broke. When you step on the pedal does it make any clicking sounds or anything? Could be a bad soleniod or a blown fuse. It could be the battery, but if you ran it for 9 holes I would check other things first.

Yes get clicking when depressing gas pedal...thanks for help; decided not to move cart from safe storage place last night & instead removed battery, to check it out today. If battery is OK will get cart picked up for service.

Re: Dead cart...just battery and belt or more?
My battery was getting weak last fall need a new one. It would not start or barely start. Could jump it in neutral and run it fast idle for a couple minutes then was fine for the day until it sat for a while. Note they don't charge at idle you have to run the engine faster to get a charge.
