choke cable
After I put my lift on, my choke cable is now too short. Has anybody had this problem on a g16? If so, what is the best fix?

You may be able to re-route the cable.

Never ran across this before. Do like TheNewGuy suggests and see if you can reroute it. What size lift did you go with? The cable should have enough slack to either fit back or possibly move it to another location.

I put on a 7" lift. The tilting of the motor causes the cable to be too short. I do not see how you can re route it because it is a straight shot. I am thinking i need a longer cable. The current one is less than 12 inches long.

I will look at mine when I get home. I just have a 4 inch lift on mine and it didn't really change anything. If this is the case for you, yes, you will need to get a longer cable if no adjustment or rerouting is possible. How much too short is the cable? You could compare lengths with a G9.

On my v-twin I used a universal cable for the choke. You can cut it to
the length you need. |

Or go with one off a G2/G9. They are longer.

On thr left side of this pic you can see the stock wire finger loop. The
universal cable will fit in this bracket and to the choke lever. Then run the new cable to the original choke knob location. |
